More than just a cure!

At the Open Space Acupuncture Clinic in Bushey, Hertfordshire’s first multi-bed acupuncture clinic, Alex Owen and James Mutkin provide low cost acupuncture at just £20 a treatment! The clinic was launched back in February and has since gone from strength to strength.

The clinics ethos is to not only offer acupuncture and Chinese medicine but to improve the overall health of the local community. To achieve this Alex Owen and James Mutkin, the clinics creators, will be providing talks on various aspects of health and wellbeing at their clinic in Bushey.

The first talk will focus on health preservation and will touch on aspects such as self massage, Chinese nutrition, exercise etc. The talks will be free with the opportunity for a donation for the clinics chosen charity, World Medicine, who take various alternative medicines to under privileged areas in the world such as to Sri Lanka after the tsunami.

The talks will provide a wealth of practical information on improving your lifestyle, which James and Alex have gathered during their years practicing Chinese medicine. James explains “one of the main reasons we set up Open Space was to provide a service that would help improve the health for the whole community. The treatment side is just one aspect of this. By offering acupuncture at half the price you would normally pay we can open its benefits up to more people who would not normally consider acupuncture for their ailments.” “The talks take this concept a step further” continues Alex. “By educating local people about health preservation and positive ways to promote their own health, we hope to make a real difference.”
